Vtg 1960s American Licorice Company TASTY WHIPS candy empty store display box

Description

This auction is for a used empty vintage American Licorice Company’s Tasty Whips cardboard store box. One edge of the box is perforated, so I think it originally had a flip-top but
what remains now is only the base of the box
as you can see here. This box held 36 packages of licorice. I don’t know the age of this box exactly but I've narrowed it down to between 1963 and 1970. The company’s San Francisco address on one of the long sides has a zip code, so it must date to after 1963. The company moved from San Francisco in 1970. No barcode anywhere. Box measures approx. 10” x 6-1/4” x 2-1/4”.

This box has considerable edge and corner wear. The short sides are pushed in a bit and there is a shallow dent on one of the long sides. Bottom of box is pushed in slightly. Bottom surface (outside the box) has some scuffing, soil, and a couple of small stains. NO writing anywhere. NO weird or musty odors.
